In a big report it has been informed that Bangladesh cricketer Lata Mondal was allegedly  offered in spot-fixing at the ongoing Women’s T20 World Cup 2023. The news broke out on Wednesday (15 February) when the cricketer informed the Bangladesh  Cricket Board.

The incident took place during Bangladesh Women’s T20 World Cup fixture against Australia Women on Tuesday (14 February) at the St George’s Park, Gqeberha. If reports are to believed, former national cricketer Shohely Akhter is said to have made an offer to Lata Mondal to spot fix. However, the 30-year-old rejected the offer and had informed the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) of the same.

“Shohely Akhter, a senior cricketer, had approached Lata Mondal with a corrupt approach ahead of Bangladesh’s match against Australia in the #T20WorldCup. Was it the reason Lata was dropped from the XI?”, a journalist tweeted.

Another journalist informed that the cricketer had informed the management and BCB’s ACU of it yesterday.

A s per the reports, the board is under discussion to proceed with the investigation on the same.
