Bangladesh’s probable squad for ICC ODI World Cup 2023

Bangladesh, the rapidly advancing cricket nation in all formats of the game, is all set to take part in their seventh ICC ODI World Cup in India later this year. The Tigers qualified for the quadrennial tournament after a brilliant ICC ODI Super League campaign, which saw them finish in top 8. The first-ever appearance for Bangladesh in the ODI World Cup happened in 1999, where they defeated Scotland and Pakistan to make their presence known to the cricketing world. Over the next few CWC campaigns, they have won against the likes of India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, England, and South Africa, among others. During the upcoming ODI World Cup in India, the Bangladesh cricket team will be looking to better their best finish in the tournament, a quarter final appearance in 2015. Anamul Haque and Nurul Hasan have been a part of the Bangladesh cricket setup for a reasonable time. They have made decent scores with the bat and showcased the best of their wicket-keeping at times, to have a chance at the ODI World Cup selection. #PAGE_BREAK# All Rounders: Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah, Mehidy Hasan Mehraz, Afif Hossain Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah have been two of the pillars of Bangladesh cricket for the better part of the last two decades. They have been an institution for the national team, with the bat, ball, and in the leadership role, during their long and successful cricket careers. Mehidy Hasan Mehraz is one of the cricketers for the future in Bangladesh, who has played 74 ODIs for the country to pick up 85 wickets and score a match-winning century at the lower order against India. Afif Hossain is yet to find his mojo as a bowler, but as a batter, he is a clean striker of the ball with the wherewithal to accumulate runs when the going gets tough. #PAGE_BREAK# Bowlers: Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Ebadot Hossain, Hasan Mahmud, Taijul Islam, Nasum Ahmed Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed have been a part of some of the major ODI wins in the history of Bangladesh. They have delivered a few outstanding spells of bowling in the 50-overs format, picking up multiple five-wicket hauls along the way. Some of the other fast bowlers who have ably supported them over their careers are Shoriful Islam, Ebadot Hossain, and Hasan Mahmud, in particular. As far as the spin bowling department goes, the Tigers would be relying on the experience of Taijul Islam in the ODI World Cup in all likelihood, while they can also pick Nasum Ahmed, who has been a part of the national side.
