Bangladesh’s Free Fire teams might compete in the upcoming Free Fire Esports World Cup and Free Fire World Series (FFWS), according to a recent job opening by Garena in Bangladesh. The company listed several job openings in the country, where the game has been banned for the past six months. The job description specifically mentioned EWC and FFWS qualifications, sparking speculation about Bangladesh’s potential participation in these highly anticipated tournaments despite the ongoing ban on the game in the country.

Free Fire, a popular battle royale survival game by Garena, was banned in Bangladesh by the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) as the high court instructed the authority due to its negative influence on the younger generation. Originally the BTRC took down the game for three months, but now even after six months, the game is still not available to play in the country.

In recent developments, big hints over Free Fire unban in Bangladesh have come out as Garena officially listed some job openings based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, for a “Senior Associate, Esports Operation.” In the job description, Garena mentioned organizing and operating Free Fire official tournaments, EWC, and FFWS qualifications.

This is the biggest hint of Free Fire's unban in the country. The Free Fire Esports World Cup is set to take place from June to August 2025 in Riyadh, and the FFWS’s pre-season leagues are starting in February, most of the league will start around April 2025, so if all goes well, players might expect the Free Fire release date very soon in Bangladesh.
