After the conclusion of the tour of New Zealand, India will now start their tour of Bangladesh with a three-match ODI series, to begin with. While India were declared the winner of the T20I series in New Zealand, they lost the ODI series in a tour that was impacted by rain and saw 3 of the 6 white-ball games ending without any result.

Having said that, Team India will be strengthened with the return of Virat Kohli, captain Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul who were given a break post the T20 World Cup. The team management will have their eyes on the ODI World Cup next year in India after having missed out on yet another opportunity to win an ICC trophy post an embarrassing 10-wicket defeat to England in the semifinal of the T20 World Cup in Australia.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, will play their first international match after the T20 World Cup when they are up against India in the series opener. They have been handed a blow with Tamim Iqbal being ruled out for the ODIs. In his absence, Litton Das has been named the team's skipper.

Before the start of the ODI series, here are the predictions for this match as well as the betting odds being offered at this moment for this fixture.

1. Toss Prediction :   toss-prediction

India lost each of their last 3 tosses in the ODIs in New Zealand. On the other hand, in their last ODI series against West Indies, Bangladesh had won all three tosses. So based on this stat, expecting Bangladesh to win the toss although both teams will have different captains from their last series.

2. Win Possibility   win-posibility-1 One would have to pick India as the pre-match favourites. The return of their experienced batters hugely tilts the balance in their favour. Virat Kohli has returned to form and Rohit Sharma just loves this format. With the focus of the senior pros shifting entirely to the ODIs in the build-up to the ODI World Cup in 2023, both of them would want to remain in prime form. India also have a dominant record over the opposition in this format which makes them the favourites to win.

3. Team of the Day

team-of-the-day-1 The Team of the Day is India. The two-time World Champions might look to experiment with a few things with regard to their batting approach and team combination but they have enough experience that should be able to see them past the winning line in this match.

4. Average first innings score and Predicted Powerplay Score   powerplay-score The average first innings score in ODIs at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka is 228. The predicted powerplay score in the first 10 overs is expected to be between 40-60.
