The second game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) also saw head-to-head record getting bashed. While it was KKR on Saturday who turned it around Chennai Super Kings, it Delhi Capitals who broke the MI jinx to register their first win of the tournament. Although MI looked in a great position to seal the victory, the batting pair of Axar Patel and Lalit Yadav snatched the victory from MI's claws.

The duo scored 75 runs in 30 balls to send Delhi Capitals fans in frenzy. While Lalit Yadav played calculated innings of 48* off 38 balls, Axar Patel smashed MI bowlers all around the ground to register a score of 38* off just 17 balls. After failing to contribute with the ball Patel made it up for it with the bat in hand.

This exhilarating performance from Axar triggered some high praise from cricket fans around the country. Twitter hailed "BAPU" in unison.

Mumbai fail to defend 177

Coming to the overall game, it was MI's match to lose after scoring 177 runs in their 20 overs. The way Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan started the innings, it was quite evident that DC missed its main bowler. In the absence of Anrich Nortje, Rishabh Pant had to give the new ball to Shardul Thakur. Khaleel Ahmed was employed from the other end. Although they did not give away freebies, Rohit and Kishan managed timely boundaries and accumulated 53 runs inside the powerplay.

Once Rohit was dismissed DC looked to take control, but Ishan Kishan held one intact for MI and kept the scoreboard ticking. He got good support from Tilak Varma and Tim David. Kishan finished the innings on a high with 81* off 48 balls. MI started well in bowling as they got three wickets inside the powerplay. Shaw and Lalit Yadav held the floodgates for a while, but it was opened yet again by Basil Thampi.

The pacer took three quick wickets to derail DC's chase but Lalit Yadav and Axar Patel had other plans. The duo brought out some mad boundary-hitting skills to snatch the game from MI's grasp.
