The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced India’s squad for a 3-match T20I series against Afghanistan. The Ajit Agarkar-led selection panel comprising SS Das and Salil Ankola picked India’s 15-man squad for the forthcoming series. The Indian men’s cricket team is set to lock horns with Afghanistan for a three-match T20I series starting from January 11, Thursday to January 17, Wednesday. 

It will be India’s final T20I assignment before the 2024 T20 World Cup, which is slated to begin on 1 June in the USA and West Indies. In their previous T20I fixtures, the Men in Blue held South Africa to a 1-1 draw in the three-match series where the opener was washed out. Before the South Africa tour, the Suryakuymar Yadav-led side beat Australia 4-1 in November 2023 in a five-match contest. 

The first game of the series will be played on January 11 at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, after which action will move to the Holkar Stadium in Indore on January 14, Sunday. After the series, India will host the England cricket team for a five-match Test series in February and March 2024.
