Another successful cricket-Bollywood love story! Team India vice-captain KL Rahul, who took a break after T20 World Cup 2022, is set to marry his lady love next month. According to reports, KL Rahul and Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty are set to get married in the month of January. The BCCI has reportedly accepted KL Rahul's 'personal leaves' and the cricketer is likely to skip the T20I and ODI series against Sri Lanka at home.
Multiple media reports have confirmed that Rahul is expected to get married to Athiya in the first week of January 2023. The reports have also claimed that in the absence of KL Rahul, the BCCI selection committee will take a call if all-rounder Hardik Pandya can be appointed full-time T20 skipper.
Earlier, Bollywood actor and father of Athiya, Suneil Shetty, confirmed the rumor about the wedding of the couple. The two have been dating since 2018.
“Hopefully soon, we will know when and where will the wedding will happen. I guess at the right time, everyone will know details about the wedding,” Suneil Shetty had said to Hindustan Times.
The cricketer has left for Dhaka along with Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and other teammates for the ODI and Test series against Bangladesh.
Immediately after the Test series against Bangladesh, Team India will return home for the Sri Lanka series.
