Indian cricketer Richa Ghosh is celebrating her birthday today (28 September 2022). The wicketkeeper-batter turned 19 on Wednesday and received wishes from her fans on social media. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also took to their social media handle to wish the cricketer a happy birthday but it soon turned to a trolling session for the Indian cricket board.
While wishing Richa a happy birthday on Facebook, BCCI tagged the wrong Richa Ghosh on their caption.
“Here’s wishing Richa Ghosh a very happy birthday”, wrote BCCI in caption. However, the person they tagged turned out to be a different Richa Ghosh. Comments soon started flooding in where users trolled BCCI for the rookie error.
“Some other Richa Ghosh is fortunate enough to be tagged in this post” one user wrote.
“The Admin, you are controlling The Indian cricket team social media page. Please don't take it lightly. The page admin of this kind of heavy weight page should be careful in tagging someone. And moreover you are mentioning an Indian Women's International Cricket team player”, wrote the other user.
Notably, Richs Ghosh is part of India's squad for the Women's Asia Cup, which is starting from October 1 in Bangladesh.
