Cris Lencioni, the American Bellator fighter, has been admitted to the ICU after suffering a cardiac arrest on June 8, according to his family. It was revealed that the incident happened at the gym, where the 28-year-old was training. Since then, he has been hospitalised, fighting for his life.

The mother-in-law of Cris Lencioni, started a “Go Fund Me” page, asking people to consider supporting him financially and keep him in their prayers.

The wife of the MMA fighter wrote on his Instagram page, an update which read, “This is Cris’ wife, Marca. On Thursday 6/8 there was an incident while Cris was training, and he experienced a cardiac arrest. The athletes at the gym were great and immediately called 911 and did their best to address his needs until paramedics arrived.”

Marca also talked about the good care received by Cris Lencioni from his doctors, while hoping that his husband will make progress. The post further read, “We are currently in another state. He has been under the care of excellent doctors with I and much of his family by his side. We are all hopeful for the progress we know he will continue to make.”

Bellator released a statement about Cris Lencioni’s condition, which read, “We are aware of Cris Lencioni's current medical condition and are monitoring the situation closely. We ask you to join us in sending thoughts and prayers to Cris and his family as he navigates his recovery process.”

Talking about the professional MMA career of the 28-year-old, he has a 11-3 record inside the octagon. He made his debut in the promotion at Bellator 289, last December, winning his fight against Cody Law by a split decision. On April 21, he got a second-round victory via submission at Bellator 294 against Blake Smith. According to reports, Cris Lencioni was slated to go one-on-one against James Gallagher at Bellator 298 on August 11.
