It has been more than a month since the ban of Battlegrounds Mobile India in the country. But recently, founder & CEO of War Mania, Hrishav Bhattacharjee, posted an update on the situation as he claimed that several private meetings have been held between the government and Krafton over BGMI’s ban.

Bhattacharjee further revealed that the key reason behind the ban was data privacy issues, which have been resolved, and gamers can hopefully start playing the game in mid-October or early November. Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) has been one of the most popular mobile games in the Indian gaming space. BGMI’s sudden ban in the country hindered the growth of the esports ecosystem.

Hrishav Bhattacharjee posted an Instagram story addressing the update and said, “So, after several private meetings between the government and Krafton, the main issue, that is data privacy, has been solved, but some internal issues are going on, and for that reason, the delay is happening! We can expect a comeback in mid of October or else starting of November, but guys, it will be back, that is for sure.”

The founder and CEO of Skyesports, Shiva Nandy, has further assured fans that Battlegrounds Mobile India soon come back. He said,  "Regarding BGMI, Krafton is putting in so much effort to bring back the game.

"Everyone should appreciate the publisher as I don't think any other publisher would care for the community at this level. 100% the game will be back. Believe in the process. Certain things I can't share here, but I will do it when it's needed with an authentic update."

The  Government of India had banned Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) which was followed by Google and Apple removing the Krafton-developed game on July 28, 2022. The removal of the game was based on directives from the Indian government. This ban came a year after Tencent's Player Unknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) was banned, the game BGMI is based on.

Google also released a statement talking about how the ban was based on a ‘ receipt of the order’. The statement also addressed that the developer was notified of the action and the app will remain banned on the platform. The statement said, “On receipt of the order, following established process, we have notified the affected developer and have blocked access to the app that remained available on the Play Store in India.”
