Developers Krafton have taken a strong stance against cheating in the popular game Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). As per a report released by them, they have permanently banned 336,736 accounts between July 30 to August 5. Given that this is the number that they have reported in a period of only seven days, it goes on to highlight how big a concern it is for developers.

Notably, cheating happens to be one of the biggest reasons that lead up to a toxic player base. This also leads to a reduction in the number of competitive games online. However, this is obviously something that BGMI would want to happen and hence the developers are committed to providing players with a good gaming experience.

As per Krafaton, the permanent banning is being done every day in order to make sure that the game remains a safe as well as a fun experience for everyone. In online shooting, there are cheating of various online shooters as cheaters employ a few third-party apps to gain unfair advantages such as an "aimbot" or a "wallhack."

Gamers mulling a possibility of an "appeal" system

With BGMI being one of the biggest games in the country, for now, it also has a lot of pressure to set some high standards and be the best possible game in terms of user experience. Consequently, strict anti-cheating measures become mandatory. Although the number of accounts that have been banned may seem big, it is expected to stop the rising cases of cheating within the community.

As per a statement by Krafton, BGMI "will strive to implement strong sanctions with the ultimate goal of eradicating the use of illegal programs in order to provide [the player] a pleasant gaming environment."

This is a huge development within BGMI and the community will open the move that cheaters are being punished. However, that would also be a little wary as there is a possibility of players incorrectly receiving a ban. Certain gamers are thus demanding an "appeal" system that could be put in place so as to ensure that not an honest gamer is banned.
