Now, with the tournament reaching its business end, both teams will be looking to avoid defeats and thus their next match will be exciting to watch.
Pitch Report
The pitches at Bellerive Oval often prove slow in pace early and then gradually flatten out. Batters tend to struggle early in the innings meanwhile, bowlers get a chance to keep things in check throughout the game.
Team Analysis
Hobart Hurricanes
After a couple of defeats, Hobart Hurricanes got things back on track as they beat Melbourne Stars in their last game. The Nathan Ellis-led team beat the Stars by two wickets save themselves from another humiliation. After restricting the opposition to 131/7, the Hurricanes did not start well as they lost Ben McDermott for only ten runs. However, Caleb Jewell and Zak Crawley steadied the ship, stitching an 84-run partnership. But the Hurricanes lost wickets in a cluster and were on the brink of losing the game. However, they managed to sneak in a few runs and win the game. Now, with a better-placed Sydney Thunder pitted against them, it will be tough for the Hurricanes.

Sydney Thunder
It was all going well for Sydney Thunder until they suffered a defeat at the hands of Sydney Sixers. That defeat ended the Thunder’s four-match winning streak and it seems it also took away their momentum. The Chris Green-led team lost to Perth Scorchers in their next game and slid down in the points table. The Thunder got bowled out for a paltry 111 in 19 overs against the Scorchers and then lost the game with 37 balls to spare. None of their batters other than Oliver Davies could leave an impact. However, Nathan McAndrew did pick a wicket along with scoring 20-odd runs. Nevertheless, the Thunder now have to face Hobart Hurricanes in their next game and will back to end on the right side.

Conclusion
Hobart Hurricanes might have won their last game but they have been quite inconsistent with their performance. Meanwhile, Sydney Thunder have put on some brilliant performances and will also be eager to bounce back from the two defeats. So, the Thunder are the favourites to win on Sunday.
