The fifth match of the Big Bash League 2022 will witness Sydney Thunder will be up against the challenge of Adelaide Strikers. In their last league fixture, Thunder chased down the target of 123 on the last ball against Melbourne Stars. On the other hand, Adelaide Strikers were too strong to post 184 and won by 51 runs against Sydney Sixers.
Going by the score lines in the last few editions, the surface at this venue is expected to be a belter. Scores of over 160 will be easily achievable, while the fast bowlers can be the lethal options to take wickets. Furthermore, the teams who have batted first have won most of the games.
The experienced pace bowling trio of Gurinder Sandhu Fazalhaq Farooqi and Daniel Sams were proficient to take two wickets each to restrict the opposition to 122. However, Alex Hales and Rilee Rossouw could not help the team in chasing down the score in a confident manner.
It was the partnership from Jason Sangha (24) and Alex Ross (28), which brought them back into the game, while Sandhu (20*) managed to clinch a thriller for the team. However, the top-order needs to score the majority of runs for the Thunder.

It was a perfect game for the Strikers in their last outing against the Sixers. The contributions from Matthew Short (84), Chris Lynn (41) and Adam Hose (40) helped the team to post a strong total of 184 on the board.
Afterwards, young Henry Thornton was accurate with his line-length to blow away the opposition’s top-order, while Rashid Khan cleaned up the middle-order to restrict the opposition to 133. They would look to continue the same dominance in this fixture as well.
