After the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 edition was indefinitely postponed on May 4, there have been talks on its resumption later this year. However, the dates and venue are yet to be finalised, but India surely is not now on the cards to host the remainder of the tournament. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly in a statement said that the remainder of the tournament will not take place in India, seeing the rise in COVID-19 cases.

Trent Boult, Williamson & others likely to miss remainder of IPL 2021

Star players including Trent Boult and Kane Williamson will be missing out from their respective IPL squads during the remainder of IPL 2021 edition. However, this condition applies if New Zealand’s tour of Pakistan clashes with the Indian Premier League. The board is looking to host the remainder season in the month of September after India’s tour of UK and ahead of the T20 World Cup. Although, no fixed dates are announced yet.

How many New Zealand cricketer were a part of IPL 2021?

As many as 10 players were a part of the Indian Premier League’s 14th edition. However, SRH will now miss the services of their new skipper Kane Williamson, Mumbai Indians leading pacer Trent Boult will also be missing the tournament. Other players who will be missing in the remainder IPL is Adam Milne (Mumbai Indians), Mitchell Santner (Chennai Super Kings), Lockie Ferguson, Tim Seifert (Kolkata Knight Riders), Finn Allen, Kyle Jamieson (Royal Challengers Bangalore).
