The Bihar State Open Esports Championship 2024 recently concluded in Patna, and Sports Minister Surendra Mehta and Bihar State Sports Authority DG Ravindran Shankaran have announced the first-ever National Esports Championship, which will take place in June 2025 in Patna. 

Bihar has hosted various esports tournaments in recent times, including the Bihar State Open Esports Championship, the Bihar Inter College Esports Championship 2024, and the Bihar Divisional Esports Championship. 

National Esports Championship in June 2025

Raveendran Sankaran, Director General of the Bihar State Sports Authority, announced the championship: “The National Esports Championship will be hosted in Bihar in the month of June and we will select the Indian team for the Olympics from this tournament.”

This is going to be the landmark event for India's esports scene, as now gamers will get the national stage to showcase their skills and win prizes. 

Bihar State Open Esports Championship 2024 Winners 

Chess.com - Rupesh Ramchandra becomes the winner of the E-chess, demonstrating amazing skills. Amrut Rounak clinched the 2nd spot while Kartikeya Nandan took 3rd place. 

E-Football (Mobile) - Hrithik Kumar took 1st place, and Rohit Kumar secured 2nd place. 

Street Fighter - Ayush Raj clinched 1st place, followed by Saloni Singh and Rohit Kumar.

EA Sports FC24 - Rudrank Rai took 1st place, followed by Ritwik Rai and Adarsh Rai.

Real Cricket 24 - Golden Kumar secured the 1st position, followed by Shivam Kumar and Sadaf Nadeem.

BGMI - Elite Force took 1st place, followed by Metal Wings and Nightmare Esports. 

In team-based games like BGMI, the teams securing 1st place receive INR 1,00,000, the 2nd place team receives INR 75,000, and the 3rd place team receives INR 50,000.

In individual games, the 1st place player receives INR 40,000, the 2nd place player receives INR 20,000, and the 3rd place player receives INR 10,000, respectively.
