Cricket in India is not merely a sport but an emotion and a separate religion. The fandom among Indians turns into complete madness during the Indian Premier League, which is currently undergoing its 16th edition and is approaching its end, and the jam-packed stadiums are a clear testament to how fans are enjoying the tournament. Talking about Indian cricketers, they are not only admired by fans in India but also across the globe. Recently the popular Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal opened up about his love for the former Indian skipper MS Dhoni. 

MS Dhoni is currently leading the Chennai-based franchise, Chennai Super Kings, which is all set to play its 10th IPL final this year. The Ranchi-born skipper of the four-time IPL winners is admired by billions and among them is Vicky Kaushal.

Kaushal joined commentators Zaheer Khan and Akash Chopra during Qualifier 1, played between CSK and Gujarat Titans. When he was asked about the team he was cheering for, he said he wants Chennai to win the game. He also went on to express his admiration and love for MS Dhoni, affectionately called, 'Mahi'. The Bollywood actor  said, “Today, I’m supporting Chennai Super Kings as I’m an MSD loyalist, and he is my favourite. Also, since there are rumours in the air that it is his last IPL, my heart wants him to lift the trophy this year.”

Notably, Vicky Kaushal was promoting his upcoming movie, ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’, where he will be seen opposite Sara Ali Khan. Speaking of the tournament, the MS Dhoni-led CSK won Qualifier 1 of the IPL 2023 and made their way to the finals for a record 10th time. They took down the reigning champions, Gujarat Titans, by 15 runs and will clash against the winners of Qualifier 2, in the grand finale of the season on May 28, in Ahmedabad.
