The Bombay High Court has sent a notice to Indian batter Prithvi Shaw and the city police regarding a response to a petition filed by Sapna Gill. The social media influencer had filed a petition against an FIR lodged against her for allegedly assaulting and demanding money from Shaw.

The FIR was lodged after Gill and her friends were involved in an altercation with  Shaw and some of his friends outside a hotel in Mumbai regarding taking selfies. Gill later lodged a counter-complaint against the 23-year-old. A division bench of Justices S B Shukre and M M Sathaye issued a notice to Shaw and the police. The hearing regarding the incident will take place in June.

Sapna Gill’s lawyer Ali Kashif Khan told the bench the police were in working with the Mumbai cricketer and had lodged a fake case against Gill. Khan asked for a court direction to the police to retrieve the CCTV footage from inside the hotel in Andheri and show what exactly transpired.

As per reports, Gill and her friend Shobhit Thakur were involved in a tussle with Shaw and his friend Ashish Yadav after he allegedly refused to take a selfie in February 2023. Hence, Gill and her friends reportedly attacked Shaw’s car and one of her friends even damaged the rear windshield with a baseball bat as per the complaint filed by the Mumbai-born cricketer.

Talking about Prithvi Shaw’s IPL season the 23-year-old has he’s failed to fire with the bat so far for the Delhi Capitals. Shaw has only scored 34 runs from four innings at an average of 8.50. The opening batter has scores of 12, 7, 0 and 15 so far as Delhi has lost all four matches that they’ve played in the tournament till now. The Capitals and Shaw will be taking on the Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 15.
