Five-times World Champions Brazil has been dealt another blow as midfielder Paqueta is set to miss the next game against Switzerland on Monday. Neymar and full-back Danilo were earlier ruled out of the upcoming fixture after suffering ankle injuries during their opening 2-0 win over Serbia.

Notably, mighty Brazil trained behind the closed door at the Al Arabi Stadium on Saturday, and coach Tite didn't mince his words about the team's selection during his press conference on Sunday.

As reported by Reuters, Paqueta could not train fully, creating another headache for the coach. Tite hoped to compensate for Neymar's absence with Paqueta, but recent development will force him to rethink his strategy from the start.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid star Rodrygo has emerged as a frontrunner to replace Paqueta if Tite opts for a four-up-front tactic alongside Vinicius, Richarlison and Raphinha. Notably, the 21-year-old forward played in Neymar's position in three practice games in Turin before the World Cup.

"I have already decided but will not disclose it until game time. In strategic terms, I can decide regarding some behavioural changes or changes in the characteristics of players I have available. Militao has already played that role; he has the characteristics to do. Dani Alves is a constructor, apart from his technical and leadership quality. We will see," Tite said.

However, Brazil's coach is quite optimistic about Neymar's recovery and believes that Neymar and Danilo will play again in the World Cup. "Medically, clinically, I have no place to speak. But I have our doctor's opinion; they are talking to the players and monitoring how hard they work day and night to recover. "I believe we will be able to count on them in the World Cup again," Tite added.
