Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza has said that the ongoing 2022 season will be the last one of her Tennis career. She revealed the same while addressing the media after her women's doubles exit at the ongoing Australian Open. She mentioned that while she could go still go deep into tournaments, she does not see her body take the toil of yet another Tennis season after 2022.
The 35-year-old said that she is pushing week by week and day by day to extend her career but is afraid that she might not even finish the ongoing season.

"I've decided this will be my last season. I'm taking it week by week, not sure if I can last the season, but I want too," Sania said while addressing the media as quoted by a Times of India journalist.
"Still feel I can play well, go deep into tournaments and all that. But beyond this season I don’t see my body do it either. It’s beat," she added.
Mirza along with her Ukrainian partner Nadiia Kichenok suffered a defeat in the women's doubles event of the season-opening Grand Slam of 2022. Kaja Juvan and Tamara Zidansek of Slovenia got the better of Mirza and Kichenok as they won in straight sets 6-4, 7-6.
Mirza along with Rohan Bopanna will participate in the mixed doubles event. The right-handed player has inspired an entire generation by her achievement in the sporting arena. In the doubles category, Sania has won the Australian Open, Wimbledon, US Open, also winning the Australian Open and US Open in the mixed doubles category.

Her greatest achievement however is the legacy she leaves behind having better the women's sport in more ways than one during her playing career and encouraging several women in India to follow their passion and tread their own path.
Mirza made her professional tour in 2003 and has been playing top-level sport for nearly two decades now. She even had a decorated career and attained the highest ranking of world number 27 in 2007, making her the highest-ranked tennis female player ever from India.
