The Badminton World Federation (BWF) on Friday, March 22 announced the draws for the Thomas and Uber Cup 2024. Notably, India men’s and women’s badminton teams are drawn into moderate groups. While the defending champions, India men’s team are drawn in Group C along with Indonesia, Thailand and England. The Thomas & Uber Cup Finals 2024 (the World Men’s and Women’s Team Championships respectively) will be held from April 27 to May 5, at Hi-Tech Zone Sports Centre Gymnasium, Chengdu, China.
The Thomas Cup Finals 2024 group stage will witness a rematch of the 2022 edition, where India stunned Indonesia 3-0 in the final in Bangkok. The men’s team will include the likes of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, Chirag Shetty, HS Prannoy, Lakshya Sen, Kidambi Srikanth, along with youngsters Priyanshu Rajawat and Kiran George.
Moreover, in the Uber Cup draw, the Indian women’s team have been placed with China, Canada and Singapore in Group A. The women’s team will be led by two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu along with the likes of Treesa Jolly, Gayatri Gopichand, Ashwini Ponnappa, Tanisha Crasto and Anmol Kharb.

Group B: Japan, Chinese Taipei, Germany, Czechia
Group C: Indonesia, India, Thailand, England
