The Indian star duo of Satwiksairaj Ra nkireddy and Chirag Shetty gained a sounding victory in the Round of 32 in the ongoing BWF World Championships 2023. The 2022 bronze medalist duo defeated their Australian rivals Kenneth Zhe Hooi Choo and Ming Chuen Lim to advance to the next round of the competition.
In a game that lasted for merely 30 minutes, the World Number 2 men’s doubles pair displayed dominance from the first shot and defeated their Aussie counterparts 21-16, 21-9.
The reigning Commonwealth Games champions, who are in red-hot form this year are coming on the back of winning four titles this season. In the next round of the competition, the Indian shuttlers will lock horns with Indonesian pair of Leo Rolly Carnando and Daniel Marthin on August 24, Thursday.
On the other hand, Indian women's doubles pair of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand defeated Chang Ching Hui and Yang Ching Tun of Chinese Taipei and advanced to the third round. The world number 19 pair of Gayatri Treesa took down their world number 37-ranked 21-18 21-10 in 38 minutes.
