The third day game of the Ashes 2023 Test got interrupted by rain on Saturday, July 8. The play did not get started until late Saturday evening in Leeds, and when the covers got off, the visitors resumed on 116-4 in their second innings, and were 142 runs ahead of the hosts. Australia’s Travis Head knocked brilliant seven runs and took the Aussie innings to 224 all out. However, while the covers were still on and there was no cricket for the fans to enjoy, the fans in Headingley turned the stadium lobby into a cricket pitch.

A video posted by the England’s Barmy Army shows some fans who started playing cricket when rain interrupted the play. The video went viral in no time, and what became the highlight of the video was a guy who was dressed like the famous comic book character, Captain America. The guy placed himself at silly mid-off and used his shield to protect himself, leaving everyone in splits.

Speaking of the game, the hosts closed the third-day play at 27 without the loss of any wicket. England’s Zak Brawley and Ben Duckett were batting at 9* and 18* by the end of five overs. However, Australia cricketer Travis Head, who emerged as the star on day three, hit 10 boundaries including three maximums.
In the series, Ben Stokes-led England trail 2-0 and if the third match is a must win for them if they wish to continue their hopes alive in what is known as one of the biggest Test cricket rivalries.
