Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Chelsea, has fired a fast shot at the Premier League teams that failed to get past the third round of the Carabao Cup after Chelsea's recent win. Pochentino spoke to the media after the game by saying that although the team may not have performed well, supporters should not simply concentrate on the drawbacks and should be happy that Chelsea has qualified for further stages of the tournament.

Mauricio Pochettino stated after the match, “In the end, we won the game. We shouldn't talk in a negative way. Many Premier League teams are out of the competition”. Although he did not mention Tottenham Hotspur specifically, it was quite obvious who he was referring to, as the Spurs are the only reputed club to be knocked out of the Carabao Cup this time till now. The Spurs were knocked out in the second round, after failing to win against Fulham. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, but Fulham edged past Tottenham in the penalties to seal the game.

In order to advance, Pochettino's team defeated a tenacious AFC Wimbledon 2-1 at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday. Robert Sanchez fouled in the area, putting the home team down in the 19th minute. The resulting penalty was converted by James Tilley, who then gave his team a startling advantage over the two-time European winners.

Just before the break, Noni Madueke gave Chelsea an equalizer by winning and converting his own penalty. Enzo Fernandez, then came off the bench to score Chelsea's winning goal and his first for the team by taking advantage of a Wimbledon defensive blunder.
