Recently, Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano took to his official Twitter handle and stated a deal is expected to be agreed shortly between Premier League club Chelsea and Christoph Freund for the role of sporting director. Earlier Freund hinted towards a possible Chelsea move after the UCL 2022-23 group stage fixture between Chelsea and Salzburg on Wednesday. Christoph Freund said, “You should never rule anything out in football and Chelsea are such a huge club. Chelsea is such a huge club in transition. I can’t say exactly what will happen in the next few weeks and months. But I’m sports director at Salzburg and I really enjoy it.”
