Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez has revealed that he has tried to persuade his compatriot and friend Paulo Dybala to join him at Stamford Bridge this summer. The 29-year-old Roma forward has been linked with a move to the Premier League, as he reportedly has a release clause of just £10 million for clubs outside Italy.

Dybala, who won the World Cup with Argentina last year, joined Roma on a free transfer from Juventus in 2020, signing a three-year deal. The Argentine was directly involved in 25 goals in 38 appearances for Roma in all competitions, scoring 18 and assisting seven others. Dybala scored five goals and assisted another to help Roma finish runners-up in the Europa League, including a goal against Sevilla in the final.

However, his future at Roma is uncertain, as Chelsea are said to be interested in signing him. The Blues are looking to bolster their attack under new manager Mauricio Pochettino, who has previously tried to sign Dybala for Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain.

Enzo Fernandez, who moved to Chelsea from Benfica in January, is keen to reunite with Dybala at club level. He revealed that he has spoken to his Argentine teammate about a potential switch to London, and hopes he will join him.  “Yes, I saw something about that. We’ll see. I hope he comes,” Fernandez told Argentinian outlet Ole.  The 22-year-old continued, “I talked to him and told him that I’m waiting for him to share a barbecue or something. I need someone to share the mates.”

Fernandez is not the only Chelsea player who has contacted Dybala about a move. Defender Thiago Silva also asked the Roma star if he is coming to Chelsea, and said it would be a "massive signing" for the club.

"I saw Paulo Dybala here, they talk about him at Chelsea. I've talked with him and asked him if he is coming. He is a world-class player. I would love to play with him and it would be a massive signing. Let's see." Silva said at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

Dybala has two years left on his contract at AS Roma and they are apparently trying to get him to sign a new deal. Dybala has also played down the rumors linking him with Chelsea and insisted that he is happy at Roma under former Blues boss Jose Mourinho. The Argentine forward insisted that he is looking forward to the preseason.
