It is to be noted that this comes after Zee Media’s sting operation, which was carried out on 15 February (Wednesday), later during the day. This decision of Sharma comes at his own will but if earlier reports are to be believed Jay Shah was said to take a call on his future after the shocking revelations made him in the sting operation.

“No, he wasn’t forced to resign. We were setting up an internal committee to probe the situation. But Chetan sent his resignation last night. Of course, it was an embarrassing situation. But it’s time to move on,” a senior BCCI official was quoted by InsideSport.
