PM Modi had recently felicitated those who represented India in Olympic Sports.

From a cricketing point of view, Gayle, the left-handed opening batter is popularly known as the "Universe Boss". He has been sensational especially in the T20 format including the Indian Premier League tournament which will be underway soon. The 42-year-old has played for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), and Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the IPL. His best, however, was reserved for RCB, where he has played 91 matches, scoring 3420 runs at a strike rate of 154.40. He is RCB's third-highest run-scorer behind Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers.

During the last IPL season, Gayle played for the Punjab Kings, however, he wasn't given as many opportunities to showcase his heroics on field and had been benched for a few games. Gayle has represented West Indies in 103 Tests, 301 ODIs and 79 T20Is in a glittering career. He is yet to announce his official retirement from international cricket.

Unfortunately, as per a latest report, the West Indies cricketer has not submitted his name for the IPL auction for the 2022 season and the fans might be disappointed as they will miss out on witnessing the famous "Gayle Storm" with the sixes that Chris was famous for. With that, it is being speculated that the 42-years-old might have already played his last IPL game.
