Going into the auction, Rajasthan Royals would have wanted to develop a base for their team and start from the beginning. They wanted to get players who could win matches for them single-handedly and getting Trent Boult has made their job easier. Ahead of the auction, RR had retained Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal.
They had a remaining purse of 62 crores which allowed them to bid high for the likes of Trent Boult, Shimron Hetmyer and other big overseas players. RR now look like a completely stable team and it would be interesting to see how they perform.
