On May 20, when asked about his opinion on boxing, Conor McGregor, the multi-time champion in UFC, sounded very confident about his skills as a boxer. He also talked about beating Canelo Alvarez in a boxing ring without any problem.

The comments from the Irish MMA fighter came in the midst of attending a boxing match between Katie Taylor vs Chantelle Cameron for the Undisputed Light Welterweight Championship at 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland. During his short boxing career thus far, Conor McGregor fought against Floyd Mayweather Jr, on August 26, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada, which he lost via TKO in the 10th round.

At the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland, the 34-year-old combat sports athlete was quoted as saying to the media about his boxing skills, “I saw [John] Ryder, I'm a southpaw, Ryder was a southpaw, Billy Joe [Saunders] was a southpaw, I've seen methods, I've seen things I'd do. I know he's waning; I'd fight Canelo no f****g problem. Out straight. No problem.”

When Canelo Alvarez was asked about the comments from Conor McGregor during the unveiling of his figure at a Wax Museum, he made a claim about beating him with one hand behind his back. The Mexican boxer remarked, “The truth is I haven’t seen what he (McGregor) said because I don’t have my social networks on my phone right now, but I’ll beat him with one hand behind my back.”

Shortly after hearing the comments from Alvarez, the Irishman took to Twitter to take the feud to a whole new level. In a now deleted tweet, McGregor had written, “Canelo you little ginger sausage. I’d beat you with NO HANDS. Don’t forget.”
