Nepal spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has joined defending Caribbean Premier League (CPL) champions Trinbago Knight Riders ahead of the upcoming edition of the T20 competition. The 2021 season will be Lamichhane’s fourth stint in CPL after he made his debut back in 2018. He previously represented St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots, Barbados Tridents and Jamaica Tallawahs in the competition. Sandeep has played 21 matches in CPL and picked up 27 wickets at an economy rate of 5.80. The leg-spinner, who played for Jamaica Tallawahs last season, will strengthen Trinbago Knight Riders spin bowling department alongside Sunil Narine, Khary Pierre and Akeal Hosein.

Kieron Pollard to lead Trinbago Knight Riders

The Trinbago Knight Riders will be led by Kieron Pollard in the CPL 2021. Pollard batted at a strike rate of over 200 last season and made sure that Knight Riders won every match in the tournament. They have already announced their retained players and will be looking to add a fifth title to their name. The Knight Riders have retained 12 players ahead of the players draft and have also traded in Denesh Ramdin from Kitts and Nevis Patriots. All-rounder Dwayne Bravo has moved to St Kitts and Nevis Patriots for this season of CPL.

The 20-year-old Sandeep Lamichhane who is 'thrilled' to join the Trinbago Knight Riders family, is looking forward to representing the defending CPL champions. He took to Twitter and shared his excitement.
