Cristian Romero, also known as Cuti Romero, is an Argentine international footballer, who plays as a centre-back at Tottenham Hotspur. The 27-year-old initially joined Tottenham Hotspur on loan from the Italian side Atalanta in 2021. In the next season in 2022, they decided to make the deal permanent for the Argentine. He has made around 124 appearances for the North London club.

Recently, during the first press conference of the new Tottenham manager Thomas Frank, he was asked about the future of Christian Romero at the club. The Spurs boss didn’t hesitate much and revealed that “he’s definitely here and very committed.” It is to be noted that Thomas Frank considers Cuti Romero as an integral part of the squad. Romero was linked to make a move to the La Liga club Atletico Madrid, but Thomas Frank has confirmed that all these rumours are false and the 27-year-old will continue at Spurs.

I know Cristian Romero is looking forward to the season: Thomas Frank

Romero is a part of the pre-season training at Tottenham and it is confirmed that he will be seen in whites in the upcoming season. In the previous season, he faced a lot of injuries, but he came back strong and played a vital role in the Europa League, guiding Spurs to win their first major trophy. Cuti Romero was awarded the player of the match award for his performance in the Europa League Finals against Manchester United.

Cuti Romero is a serial winner and has won major trophies with Argentina such as the World Cup in 2022 and the Copa America in the year 2021 and 2024. Tottenham have started strong in the transfer window as they have made signings of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham, Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest and Kota Takai from Kawasaki Frontale. Thomas Frank will be hoping to achieve great heights with this squad and hopefully compete for the Premier League title in the upcoming season.
