Football Manager has launched its latest edition FM23 on Tuesday and released a list of top players that included Manchester City star midfielder Kevin De Bruyne and Paris Saint-Germain star Lionel Messi among the top 10 players. However, the football-management simulation video game has stunned the fans with Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo's ranking.

Football Manager 23 has listed Kevin De Bruyne on the top while Lionel Messi at the 10th spot. De Bruyne has been magnificent for Manchester City this season as he scored three goals and nine assists in 13 Premier League matches while the Argentine wizard has scored 12 goals and made 14 assists in his 19 appearances this season for PSG across all competitions.

Paris Saint-Germain megastar Kylian Mbappe and Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski are placed at the second and the third spot respectively. While Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah is fourth and the 2022 Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema finished at the fifth place.

Apart from De Bruyne, Erling Haaland is another City star, who made it to the list of top 10 players by FM23 as he claimed the sixth spot. Harry Kane, Thibaut Courtois and Virgil van Dijk are placed at seventh, eighth and ninth spot, respectively.

Cristiano Ronaldo ranked 100th by FM23

Shockingly, Portugal captain and Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo was ranked at the 100th spot after failing to contribute big for his side this season in the Premier League and Europa League. The 37-year-old Ronaldo has scored just one goal in the Premier League this season while he has scored two goals in the Europa League, one of which was a penalty.

After ending the 2021-22 season as Man United's top scorer with 24 goals in all competitions, Ronaldo struggled to find the back of the net this season on multiple occasions. However, many fans called it a publicity stunt as the world's leading goal scorer was placed behind players like Memphis Depay, who scored 15 goals in 43 appearances from 2021-22 season, Pepe, Declan Rice, Yves Bissouma and others.

Additionally, the FM23 has also downgraded Ronaldo's pace and acceleration by three points.
