On Tuesday, May 20, the inaugural title winners, Rajasthan Royals (RR) defeated former champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by six wickets in match number 62 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. After three wickets hauls from Yudhvir Singh Charak and Akash Madhwal helped restrict CSK to 187, RR chased the total in 17.1 overs with ease.

For the unversed, the captain of RR, Sanju Samson, won the toss and decided to bowl first. Yudhvir Singh Charak got two wickets in his very first over, sending Devon Conway and Urvil Patel back to the pavilion. Thereafter, a combined effort from Tushar Deshpande and Kwena Maphaka, helped them send Ayush Mhatre back to the pavilion, ending his innings of 20-ball 43.

None of the batters could then make an impact with their bats before Dewald Brevis and Shivam Dube held their nerves to help put 187 runs on the board for CSK with their respective knocks of 42 and 39. The RR bowlers proved crucial in restricting CSK to the below average score with Yudhvir Singh Charak and Akash Madhwal picking up three wickets each. Tushar Deshpande and Wanindu Hasaranga also picked a wicket apiece.
