Tokyo Paralympics 2020 Day 3 Highlights Bhavinaben Patel scripts history by securing India’s first medal

India's Bhavina Hasmukhbhai Patel beat England's Sue Bailey in Women's Singles Classes 3-5 Final on Friday. The para-athlete with this win confirmed a medal for India.

She won the game in three sets. Bhavina Patel defeated her opponent 11-6, 11-6, 11-6 to enter Women's Singles Classes 3-5 Final of the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022.

However, on the other hand, India's Sonalben Patel lost to Christiana Ikpeoyi. She finished on the losing side despite taking the first set 11-8.

But a lead in the next three sets led Ikpeoyi to win the game 11-8, 6-11, 4-11, 7-11.

For the finals of the Table Tennis Women's Singles Classes 3-5, Bhavina Patel will see Christiana Ikpeoyi whereas Sonalben Patel will take on England's Sue Bailey for the bronze medal.
