Brazilian star defender Danilo has been officially excluded from Juventus’ squad travelling to Saudi Arabia for the upcoming Supercoppa Italiana. He is likely to leave the club, as Napoli is trying hard to sign him for free. He was benched for the entire 90 minutes of the Bianconeri's 2-2 home draw against Fiorentina, and Thiago Motta's decision to leave him out of the squad that will travel to Saudi Arabia to face Milan in the Supercoppa Italiana semifinal, confirmed the club's intention to part ways with him. The 33-year-old Brazilian has battled to settle well under manager Thiago Motta, however, ended up at the bottom of the pecking order, unable to gain regular playing time.

The 33-year-old boasts two Premier League crowns and two Champions League trophies, along with the Turin-based club looking for a cheap departure. Napoli offered the Brazilian international a two-year contract, which he signed, with Antonio Conte interested in the versatile centre-back who can play on either wing.

Napoli considers Danilo an ideal defence to the club: Antonio Conte

Napoli head coach Antonio Conte considers the Brazilian veteran as the ideal defensive addition for his team. According to Rai Sports, Partenopei have agreed to on-board Danilo to Stadio Diego Maradona in the upcoming summer, they are hoping to conclude the transfer in January instead. With his contract expiring in June, Aurelio De Laurentiis' club is unwilling to pay a fee for a player who will become a free agency in six months, but the Bianconeri have not been ready to let him go without payment thus far.

Danilo had previously stated his intention to see out his Juventus contract, which ends at the end of the season. However, he also intimated that he would not object if the club's administration asked him to depart. Danilo's time at Juventus is nearing its end. And it appears that his fans won't see much of him until final announcement is made about his departure on the Juventus website.
