After a stunning defeat in the opening Test match against West Indies, the Cricket West Indies selection panel has deemed fit to recall Darren Bravo and Shannon Gabriel as they announced a 13-member squad for the second Test match against South Africa. The Test match is set to begin on June 18 at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground. The match happens to be a must-win one for the Caribbean as they are already 0-1 down in the 2-match series.

Meanwhile, the chief selector Roger Harper confirmed that Gabriel has been declared fully fit for selection and hence has been added back into the squad.

Bravo is a quality batting option: Roger Harper

"Shannon Gabriel has been declared fully fit and as someone who was the spearhead of the attack before, he has returned to the 13-man squad. With Bravo, we have someone who is an experienced batsman and gives us a quality batting option," Harper said as quoted in a Cricket West Indies release.

“The team now has to play to the standard we know we’re capable of. We didn’t bat anywhere near to our potential in the first Betway Test and we have to improve with the bat in this upcoming match,” he added.

It should be noted that Nkrumah Bonner was not available for selection owing to the concussion he suffered during the first Test match which the hosts lost by an innings and 63 runs and would look to produce a better show in the second match.
