The former Australian cricketer, David Warner, is looking forward to the Ashes which is set to begin on November 21 this year. It is the historical series between England and Australia, wherein five Test matches get played. Keeping the Ashes in mind, David Warner took a dig at former England captain Joe Root stating that he will need to "take the surfboard off his front leg", if they were to win against Australia in the Ashes.
Joe Root has been trolled a lot of times for losing his wicket by lbw in cricket apart from not scoring a Test hundred in Australia, which is why David Warner made the statement to trigger the Englishman ahead the Ashes. Warner said, "The big anchor there is Rooty (Joe Root), who is yet to score a hundred in Australia."
According to the ICC rankings, Joe Root is currently the best Test batter, taking the No.1 spot. However, he hasn't had the best time of it against Australian pacers like Josh Hazlewood and captain Pat Cummins, losing his wicket to them on a consistent basis in the Ashes over the years. Warner is just as excited for the upcoming Ashes as any of the cricket fans and is ready to witness the drama unfold this winter.
