Deepti Sharma starred as the UP Warriorz defeated the Delhi Capitals Women at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Friday to register back-to-back wins in the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024. Despite Meg Lanning's 60 runs in 46 balls, the Warriorz snatched the victory by 1 run as they picked six wickets in the last two overs.

After winning the toss, UP skipper Healy decided to bat first, and all-rounder Deepti Sharma's half-century up the order at No. 3 guided the Warriors to place 138 runs on the board. The Warriorz lost eight wickets as only three batters including Deepti (59), Alyssa (29), and Grace Harris (14) scored in double digits.

Radha Yadav and Titus Sadhu picked two wickets each, however, both bowled three overs with the Capitals all-rounder giving just 16 runs while the 19-year-old pacer went for 23 runs. Apart from these two, four DC bowlers picked a wicket each to restrict the Warriorz at a low target.

During the chase, skipper Meg planning began with an intent and smashed 12 fours in her spectacular innings but she lost her wicket when the Capitals required 46 runs in six overs to win the match. Deepti Sharma continued her brilliant performance in the match, this time with the ball as she picked wickets including a hattrick, which commenced with the crucial wicket of Lanning on the last ball of the 14th over. Deepti dismissed Annabel Sutherland and Arundhati Reddy on the first two balls of the 19th over to complete her hat-trick.

Grace Harris took the task in her hands for the Warriorz to bowl the final over of the match and despite conceding a six on the first ball, she picked two wickets and one runout to complete a team hat-trick and win the game by 1 run.
