Mumbai Indians (MI) are playing the Gujarat Titans (GT) in match number 56 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on May 6, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. GT won the toss and chose to field, putting MI to bat first at home. The innings saw early breakthroughs by GT's bowlers, with Mohammed Siraj dismissing Ryan Rickelton early, and spinners Rashid Khan and Sai Kishore tightening the grip in the middle overs. These two were the only bright spots in MI’s batting as the lower middle order faltered with the bat as well. Tilak Varma, skipper Hardik Pandya and Naman Dhir were all dismissed for single-digit scores as MI have struggled to put up runs on the board. While GT’s bowling unit has done really well, their fielding has not really complemented that with 3 dropped catches in the powerplay itself.

While the total is not very convincing given GT’s batting firepower, MI is known to have defended some really low scores in the history of the IPL.
