Delhi Capitals franchise provided an update on their squad members after the suspension of the Indian Premier League 2021. Delhi Capitals took to social media to inform that all their players and support staff have reached back home safely, while some are in quarantine. Head coach Ricky Ponting, Australian cricketers and support staff are presently quarantining in the Maldives. "All the Indian players and support staff have reached their respective homes," the Delhi franchise informed.

Australian players and support staff currently quarantining in Maldives

The overseas players and support staffs were forced to leave India earlier than expected because of the suspension of the 14th edition of the IPL due to rising cases of COVID-19 in the country. The overseas players are undergoing a mandatory isolation period after reaching their respective countries. Meanwhile, Australia has sealed its borders for travellers from India due to the devastating second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, former Australian captain Steve Smith, Marcus Stoinis, Patrick Farhart and James Hopes are currently with Ponting in the Maldives.

Delhi franchise confirmed that all England cricketers have reached London and are currently under quarantine as per the UK protocols. English players, who are quarantining are Tom Curran, Chris Woakes and Sam Billings. South African contingent of fast bowlers Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje have also reached their respective homes. West Indian Shimron Hetmyer has also reached his destination in the Caribbean.
