With the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League approaching its end, all the teams have pulled up their socks for the qualifying race and are leaving no stone unturned to put in their best effort to enter the top four. In the race, Delhi Capitals became the first team to be eliminated from the playoffs race for this season’s IPL. However, regardless of the results, the team wants to make their last home league match special and have announced a special jersey for their last game at the Arun Jaitley on May 20, Saturday, against Chennai Super Kings.
The Delhi-based franchise took to social media to announce that the squad will be seen appearing in special jersey for their last home league match of IPL 2023. The tweet by the official account of Delhi Capitals read, “Ending our #IPL2023 campaign on a 🌈 note!
Our boys will be donning these special threads in our last home match of the season at #QilaKotla!” The David Warner-led team had a disappointing season of the famous cash-rich league and could manage to collect only ten points from five wins.
Notably, Delhi Capitals mostly occupied the last spot on the points table during the entire Indian Premier League 2023 edition. Joining them are SunRisers Hyderabad in getting eliminated from the playoff contention. Speaking of the other teams, the reigning champions Gujarat Titans became the first team to secure their berth in the playoffs. However, the rest of the teams are fighting their best to make it to the top four. As this race continues, Punjab Kings will take on Rajasthan Royals in the 66th game of the Indian Premier League 2023 in Dharamsala on May 19.
