Australia all-rounder Cameron Green has registered his name for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 Mini Auction. Green has risen to the ranks for the Kangaroos in the past few months and this has not gone unnoticed by cricket fans across the globe. Green’s quickfire knocks against India prior to the T20 World Cup made him the talk of the town.

Now, with Green available at the IPL 2023 Mini Auction, the ten franchises will go bonkers to acquire the services of the Aussie all-rounder. It seems Delhi Capitals (DC) will be the first team to raise the paddle for Green on 23 December in Kochi. The franchise’s head coach Ricky Ponting has dropped a massive hint.

The former Australia captain who has been an integral part of the DC management from the past few years and has played a crucial role in getting in players like David Warner and Mitchell Marsh, asked Australia coach Andrew MacDonald to keep his phone switched on. Ponting, who is a part of the 7Cricket commentary panel dropped the hint during the Lunch break of the 1st Test between Australia and West Indies.

“Keep your phone on tonight Roney because I am really interested in having an IPL conversation with you about Cam Green because I have freed up a fair bit of money at the Delhi Capitals this year,” Ponting told McDonald.

Notably, Delhi Capitals released four players and traded Shardul Thakur in exchange for Aman Khan from Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) ahead of the IPL 2023 auction. They now have a fair bit of money (a total of INR 24.45 Crore) to spend in the auction. DC are expected to bid for Green but it won’t be easy for them because the other nine franchises have also their eyes set on the Aussie all-rounder.

Talking about Green’s number in T20s, the all-rounder has scored 245 runs and has taken 5 wickets across 21 matches. Meanwhile, Green’s batting strike rate in T20Is is 173.75.
