Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are having some tough times in the middle as they have lost their first three games of IPL 2022. They first lost to KKR in their opening game and then they failed to defend a mammoth 210 against Lucknow Super Giants in their second game. With two losses in two games, CSK created an unwanted record for themselves (to lose the first two games in an IPL season).
Their fans hoped for a better show from the defending champions as they faced Punjab Kings on Sunday evening. However, to their disappointment, CSK failed to open their account in IPL 2022 as they lost to Punjab by a massive 54 runs. After conceding 180 runs with the ball, the four-time champions failed to chase it with their top order collapsing completely. Shivam Dube and MS Dhoni spent some time in the middle but it was too late for an assault.
Meanwhile, for Punjab Kings, there were quite a few good performances but the star of the show was Liam Livingston. The English all-rounder made the game for his team with his all-round performance. He scored 60 runs off just 32 balls and then also took two wickets including the important wicket of Shivam Dube.
