With the start of T20 World Cup just 34 days away, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is all set to announce 15-member squad for the marquee event. The ICC tournament is set to be held in Australia, starting from 16 October 2022.

The national selection committee of the BCCI has sat down to select the best possible combination for the event, seeing a disappointing Asia Cup 2022 campaign.

As reported by PTI, veteran India wicketkeeper batter Dinesh Karthik is likely to get the nod ahead of Rishabh Pant for the T20 World Cup 2022. Comparing the performance of the two wicketkeepers, Dinesh Karthik scored one run in the three matches he played (did not get a chance to bat in two matches out of the three), however, Rishabh Pant scored a total of 51 runs from four matches.

As it was earlier reported that Team India's spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has cleared the fitness test and is likely to be included in the 15-squad. Sources close to BCCI also confirmed that Harshal Patel has also cleared the fitness test and will join the squad ahead of the T20 World Cup.

Meanwhile, India will miss their all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who has been ruled out after suffering a knee injury. Notably, the 33-year-old injured his right knee and was ruled out of the Asia Cup midway after playing India's first two games against Pakistan and Hong Kong.

India's Probable T20 WC squad:

Rohit Sharma (C), KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Sanju Samson, Dinesh Karthik, R Ashwin, Axar Patel, Harshal Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammad Shami
