Ex-Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has reportedly sacked his agent and is now looking forward to finding a new club on his own as a free agent. He is now holding talks with three different Premier League clubs, Manchester United, Leeds United, and Newcastle United. However, he has kept his options open, hoping that a club higher up the Premier League hierarchy will make a move for him.

Meanwhile, Sunderland has opted to bring in Marc Guiu on loan from Chelsea. Aston Villa have also been mentioned as another possible destination for Calvert-Lewin. The 28-year-old striker parted ways with the Toffees after the 2024-25 Premier League season, having ended the campaign with only three goals in 26 league appearances.

Initially, when Dominic was at his best, United showed their interest in signing a deal and were ready to hike the fee of £50m for the striker a few years ago. A switch to Old Trafford now appears more unlikely than ever. The Red Devils have recently finalised the £74 million acquisition of striker Benjamin Sesko, leaving little demand for additional depth in that role. With Ruben Amorim already having Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund at his disposal, the striker department is currently full.

Promising career of Dominic Calvert-Lewin's at Everton

The 28-year-old former Sheffield United academy player started his journey with Everton in 2016. During his time with the Toffees, Calvert-Lewin netted 57 Premier League goals, placing him third on the club’s all-time top-scorers list in the competition. He earned the player of the season award in 2020-21 after scoring 21 goals across all competitions. Further, he also delivered the decisive goal against Crystal Palace that secured Everton’s top-flight survival at the end of the 2021-22 season.

By going beyond the regular game for clubs, Calvert-Lewin has made 11 appearances for England. However, his most recent cap came during Euro 2020, featuring in the Three Lions’ quarter-final victory over Ukraine. It now appears unlikely that he will secure a move to his next club before the Premier League season kicks off.
