Excited Kolkata Knight Riders fans flooded X with memes as the franchise prevailed over SunRisers Hyderabad to lift their third IPL title. The 17th edition of the biggest cricket league which kicked off on March 22, came to an end on May 26 with KKR clashing against Pat Cummins-led side at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. KKR came in the final on the back of two IPL wins whereas the Orange Army aimed for their second IPL title.
SRH skipper Pat Cummins won the toss and chose to put score on the board first. The two-time winner, KKR, who had already defeated SRH twice in the current season, seemed confident right from the beginning. Hyderabad’s openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head who emerged as the team’s USP in the tournament failed to deliver in the summit clash.
KKR went on to deliver a power-packed performance in the first innings and restricted the rivals to the lowest final score in the history of the tournament of 113 runs. Andre Russell scalped three wickets whereas Mitchell Starc and Harshit Rana went on to pick two wickets each. In the second innings, Venkatesh Iyer scored 52* runs in 26 balls to guide the side to an easy win by eight wickets.

On SRH's side, Pat Cummins and Shahbaz Ahmed picked one wicket each.
