Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar revealed the mood of the Indian dressing room post the conclusion of Day 2 of the fourth Test in Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The second day of the series saw the guests nearing a strong end, until the final hour crushed their hopes. The guests started the third session at 51/2, and were soon at 153/2 as the gameplay neared day end. While India aimed to put the Kangaroos under pressure, the quick fall of three wickets changed the course of the game.
However, it seems that the Indians are very much optimistic, as revealed by Indian all-rounder Sundar. The player who made it into the team in place of star batter Shubman Gill, said that Rohit Sharma and Co. are keeping themselves very positive. The Indian team received their biggest jolts after Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli were forced to depart.
It will just be about us trying to fight really hard: Washington Sundar
The 25-year-old revealed that the team is in great spirits after being asked about the dressing room’s mood. In the press conference, Sundar revealed, “We were in a great position to get big runs but we will still come back and continue to fight tomorrow morning.”
He added, "Definitely, the energy is very good in the dressing room, we are all positive. There is a long time in the game as well, so there are still three days, a lot of overs to play, so it will just be about us trying to fight really hard and get things done for the team." Notably, Sundar played the first game, and wasn't a part of the squad for the next two matches. India ended the day on 164/5 after they lost three wickets in the last half-an-hour of the day.
