Thereafter a gritty knock of 99 from Harry Brook, along with a century from Ollie Pope, England posted 465 runs and were denied a lead by Jasprit Bumrah, who picked his 14th five-wicket haul.

Thereafter, centuries from KL Rahul (137) and Rishabh Pant (118) help India put 371 runs for England to chase and claim the first Test. At the close of play on day four, England had posted 21 runs on board and will now look to get 350 in order to win the first Test, whereas India will aim to get all ten wickets within the three sessions and take a lead of 1-0 in the five-match series.
