In a big blow to the England side, captain Eoin Morgan has been ruled out of the remaining two fixtures of the ODI series against India due to his hand injury. While Morgan was present for the T20Is and the opening ODI, he will play no further part in the three-match 50-overs competition. Meanwhile, Sam Billings has been ruled out at least for the second game on Friday after he sustained an injury in the first ODI.

In Morgan's absence, wicketkeeper batsman Jos Buttler will lead the visiting side for Friday's match which happens to be a must-win affair for the Three Lions if they want to remain alive in the series. Despite winning the toss and asking India to have a bat first in the first match at the MCA Stadium, Pune, England faced a 66-run defeat. Injuries to key players ahead of the second game could further spoil their plans of making a comeback.

Liam Livingston, Dawid Malan expected to get a game

Amid the injury concerns, it is also being known that Liam Livingstone will make his debut in the second fixture. Moreover, Dawid Malan is also expected to find a place in that middle order owing to the unavailability of Morgan. As far as India are concerned, Rohit Sharma remains a doubtful starter but Shreyas Iyer is a certain miss for the remainder of the series.
