Norwegian footballer Erling Braut Haaland has taken English Premier League or the whole football fraternity for that matter by storm with his consistent performances. The 22-year-old has already netted 15 goals and three assists in nine matches so far in the 2022-23 Premier League season. The Manchester City forward just does not seem to stop when it comes to baffling the opposition and scoring goals.
Haaland is a tall guy, and his incredible physique also augurs well with his technique of going past defenders. And it’s pretty obvious that someone who has such a level of physical strength might have a special diet. Now, Haaland has lifted the lid on his Hannibal Lecter-style routine in his recent documentary called ‘Haaland: The Big Decision’. The Norwegian revealed how he manages to provide his body with the required nutrients.
He said that he focuses on eating quality food that is as local as possible and also revealed that he eats heart and liver. The Norwegian also pointed out that he starts his day by getting some sunlight into his eyes and only drinks filtered water.
“You (other people) don’t eat this, but I am concerned with taking care of my body,” Haaland said whilst showing off huge chunks of heart and liver from his butcher. “I think eating quality food that is as local as possible is the most important. People say meat is bad for you but which? The meat you get at McDonald’s? Or the local cow eating grass right over there? I eat the heart and the liver.”
“The first thing I do in the morning is to get some sunlight in my eyes, it is good for circadian rhythm. I have also started to filtrate my water a bit. I think it can have great benefits for my body.” Haaland, who claims to have 6,000 calories a day, is also a fan of ice baths, and glasses which filter out blue light to improve his sleep.
